New Proposed Regulation Rule Bans People Applying for Green Card from Using Public Benefits

Posted on September 24, 2018 by Support

According to the new regulation rule which was published on September 22, 2018, by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), people who apply for a Green Card will have to prove their ability to provide for themselves. New immigrants cannot rely on public benefits anymore. The purpose of this rule is to protect American taxpayers.
The public benefits are federal, state, local, or tribal cash assistance for income maintenance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid (with limited exceptions for Medicaid benefits paid for an “emergency medical condition,” and for certain disability services related to education), Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, or food stamps), institutionalization for long-term care at government expense, Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance, and Public Housing.

There are some categories of people who won’t be affected by this new regulation rule. Such as by statute, asylees, refugees, and other categories of vulnerable individuals are not subject to the public charge ground of inadmissibility; aliens serving in active duty or in the Ready Reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces, or the spouse or child of the service member. Additionally, DHS would not consider disaster relief, emergency medical assistance, benefits received by an alien’s U.S. citizen children, and Medicaid benefits received by children of U.S. citizens and potential adoptive children of U.S. citizens. Does Visitor’s Health Insurance Give a 100% Coverage?

Posted on September 18, 2018 by Support

Typically people think that visitor’s travel insurance give them 100% coverage and that they only will need to pay once for premium. Is it really the case?

What are the things every visitor might need to pay for?

  1. Premium – every visitor will have to pay for premium when they decide to purchase travel insurance unless somebody else will pay for it (e.g. job).
  2. Deductible – is the amount a visitor pays for health care services before an insurance company begins to pay. It’s common for travel insurance to have a certain deductible. Usually, a visitor will have a couple of options to choose from.
  3. Coinsurance – is visitor’s share of the cost for medical services. Typically it’s a percentage. Some plans have coinsurance, some do not.
  4. Copay – is a fixed amount which an insurance company wants a visitor to pay for every medical service a visitor gets.
  5. Out-of-pocket maximum – the post-deductible amount a visitor needs to reach in order to get 100% coverage for all covered services from an insurance company (typically for the rest of the calendar year).
  6. Cost for not covered services – many plans do not cover dental work, vision, medicine prescriptions, etc.

Those are extra expenses U.S. visitor might have besides deductible. It varies with every plan.

What will be the best plan to minimize extra expenses?

India Network Visitor’s Health Insurance is pleased to offer CHUBB Network plan for every U.S. visitor who wants to get the most comprehensive coverage with least out-of-pocket expenses.

CHUBB Network plan – is a comprehensive plan which pays 80% of the entire bill (up to the policy maximum) and a visitor pays only 20%. This plan also offers an option to take a full pre-existing conditions coverage where pre-existing conditions consider the same as new problems and coverage is extended to inpatient, outpatient care, etc. Emergency care, ambulance, medical evacuation and repatriation services are also included in the plan.

Information About U.S. Visas

Posted on May 14, 2018 by Support

If you live in India and plan to go travel, study or work in the U.S., Canada or Mexico, remember to get a  Visitor Insurance. That will give you a piece of mind during your vacations.

India Network Services is a US-based company that administers visitor insurance to tourists, students, temporary workers and their families. Visitor medical plans are offered for all age groups (0-99 years old) with both fixed coverage, comprehensive coverage and with pre-existing condition coverage.

The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi recommends travelers across India apply early for U.S. visas due to heavy demand.  At this time, applicants across India may wait 30 days or more for a visa interview appointment to become available and the Embassy expects this wait time to continue for at least the next few months.  Mission India’s nonimmigrant visa workload is one of the largest in the world, processing over a million visas a year.  In the last five years, the demand for visas to travel to the United States has increased by over 60 percent.

The U.S. Embassy and our four Consulates are constantly working to improve service and meet demand, but applicants should be aware that the summer is a peak travel season and there will be delays in getting visa appointments.  Travelers should apply early to avoid potential delays.

Protect your dream vacation by purchasing Visitor Health Insurance before you visit the U.S. Medical bills  can cost you thousands of dollars. Go to this website to learn why it’s important to have a Visitor Health Insurance. Here you can learn more about Visitors Health Insurance Plans offered by India Network Services.

Applicants are also reminded to beware of scams and fraud.  The only way to get a U.S. visa is through official channels.  Someone can either apply and have an interview at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate, or if they have  had a visa before and meet certain criteria,  they may qualify to have  their visa renewed.  Anyone claiming they can guarantee a visa in exchange for a fee is attempting to defraud you.  Applicants should be  smart and apply the right way.

Consular sections in Mission India are currently only able to expedite visa appointments for cases involving genuine emergencies.  To request an emergency appointment, contact them at www.ustraveldocs.com, schedule a regular interview appointment, and then click “apply for an expedited appointment.”

For more information on applying for visas please click here.

Visa officers take questions live online every Friday at 2 p.m. at: https://www.facebook.com/India.usembassy/
